The British Phonographic Industry (BPI) revealed one in five consumers (19.6 percent) now prefer to download songs legally.

Last year, 27.7 percent in the United Kingdom music fans downloading songs from the iTunes store as a digital and Amazon, or listen to it via streaming on YouTube or on Spotify.

The Chief Executive of BPI, Geoff Taylor, said there has been a release through focus for shops that sell the physical album.

"It will continue. We must do everything to please those who are fond of CDs and LPs, "he said, as quoted from the BbC.

Songs from Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know" became the most played song on stream by 2012.

"Call Me Maybe" Carly Rae Jepsen is underneath and have watched as many as 3.7 million times in the United Kingdom Kingdom in 2012.

According to the BPI, four out of five consumers have heard of at least one of the service providers of audio streaming.

Meanwhile, a study conducted by Spotify shows Edinburgh became the city's most extensive use of streaming services, followed by Cardiff and Southampton.
