Tennessee police, mother to the dispute over the child aged 10 to riding bike school

Published September 07, 2011| FoxNews.com

Tennessee police is in dispute heated with a mother to allow her daughter 10 years ride his bike to school alone, arguing that the journey of a thousand is dangerous and the safety of the child is at stake.

Elizabethton Police service said Teresa Tryon that her daughter is not allowed to ride his bike without supervision to elementary school and Harold McCormick, because the roads were too much traffic.

"We are just search for the safety of the child," head of the Police Elizabethton Matt Bailey told FoxNews.com. "It's a busy street surface." It is not a road by definition, but it is a very busy road. »

Bailey, said an officer observed cars doing around the child swerving to avoid hitting the last month. He said that Constable also saw the girl "is outstanding." Police then Tryon and he said that it was dangerous for the girl to ride his bike.

Tryon, who described his daughter as an "avid cyclist", says the girl is not violating a city ordinance and that she has the right to ride his bike to school, the reports of TriCities.com.

"How the agent knows my daughter better than me?" she told the station.

Bailey told FoxNews.com that the police have advised District Prosecutor's Office and that Tryon could potentially facing charges of child negligence if the situation continues. He noted that a child was struck and killed while riding a bike on the same streets a few years earlier, prompting the police to take additional precautions.

But Tryon would have company standing in its decision to allow the girl up.

"Is the DA, it is a little extreme for a 10-year-old a thousand riding," she told the station. "It is not breaking any law.". It is a judgment - even on the incident report. The officer wrote, it is a judgment. »

Tryon could not be reached for comment contacted Wednesday by FoxNews.com.
