PKK prisoners in Turkey and eight Northern Iraq

Cizre, Turkey (Reuters)-Guerrillas of the Kurdistan Workers ' Party (PKK) frees eight people Wednesday of Turkey that they hold it for two years in northern Iraq, said a Kurdish official told AFP.

The men were freed as part of a new peace push by Turkey's Government to end 29-year Kurdish insurgency led by the PKK, branded a terrorist group by much of the world community, the AFP report.

"We have accepted detainees safely," said Husamettin Zenderlioglu, a member of the democracy and peace Party (BDP) pro-Kurd who was part of the delegation to accept the inmates.

Zenderlioglu, which is in northern Iraq, deliver it to a AFP correspondent near Turkey's border with Iraq.

The eighth release of inmates, including the security apparatus and civil servants, made after a request from a jailed Kurdish leader, Abdullah Ocalan, who last month expressed its hope through the BDP's parliamentary members who visit that he wanted to see the prisoners were gathered together again with their families.

Officials started negotiations with Turkey on Ocalan last October, with the main purpose of disarming rebels who use bases in Iraq as a place to launch attacks against security forces in the southeastern region of Turkey.

According to a plan that covered government and Ocalan Ankara, PKK would end hostilities and withdraw fighters from Turkey-warriors as the beginning of disarmament, in exchange for greater rights for Kurds established in the Constitution.

The fugitive Ocalan was arrested in Kenya on February 15, 1999 in a secret operation Turkey after he was exiled from Syria, where he was based for a decade to organize the workers ' Party of Kurdistan (PKK).

The initial verdict against Ocalan death sentence converted to life imprisonment sentence on a prison island off the coast of Istanbul since 2002.

Each year the Kurdish demonstrators clashed with police to protest Turkey's arrest of their leader.

Turkey, the EU and the u.s. considers the Kurdistan Workers ' Party (PKK) as a terrorist organization.

Turkey's military launched air attacks and ground operations are limited to the northern Iraq since August 2011 following the wave of attacks, the PKK guerrillas after the traffic-jammed a ceasefire before.

The PKK launched attacks from their hiding places in the remote mountains of Iraq as part of their war to gain greater rights and autonomy for the Kurdish population.

More than 40,000 people have died since the PKK took up arms in 1984. (M014)

Fayyad was shocked over the death of the Palestinian prisoners in Israel

Ramallah, Palestinian territories (Reuters)-Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad expressed surprise over the death of a Palestinian in Israel's prison on Saturday and called for the full details of what happened.

Fayyad "expressed his sadness and deep shock over kemartian prisoners in prisons of occupation Jaradat Arafat is Israel," said a statement from his Office, as reported by AFP.

He affirmed the necessity to immediately reveal the real reason that cause them to martyrdom.

Earlier, a spokesman for Israel's Prison Service said Post, Jaradat Sivan (30), a father of two children in the West Bank town of Hebron, died suddenly at the Megiddo detention centre in the North of Israel.

"It's probably a heart attack, I have no additional details at the moment," said the Post.

Issa Qaraqaa, the Palestinian Minister in charge of prisoners Affairs, told AFP that Jaradat was arrested a few days earlier.

"He died during the investigation," added Qaraqaa.

"We demand the establishment of a Commission of inquiry to investigate the circumstances of his death international," he said.

Israel's internal intelligence service Shin Bet said Jaradat was arrested on Monday because of his involvement in the incident of stoning in November that caused an injured Israel.

He fell ill just before his death, the Shin Bet said in a statement.

"After lunch, when he was resting in the Megiddo prison, Arafat Jaradat was brought to the hospital. Paramedics were called to treat him but they were unable to save his life, "he added.

Clashes broke out in Hebron between Palestinian youths and the security forces of Israel after the death of Jaradat's news, said witnesses and security sources.

Relations between Israel and the Palestinian territories have been particularly tense since protests this month in solidarity with four other prisoners detained by Israel conducted a hunger strike action.

The prisoners ' club based in Ramallah announced that seven prisoners had joined the protests that, though there was no immediate confirmation from the prison service.

Jerusalem (Reuters)-around 3,000 Palestinians are languishing in prison hunger strike a day Israel on Sunday to protest the death of a colleague.

"Around 3,000 prisoners announced that they will refuse to eat," said Agency spokesman Kepenjaraan Israel Sivan Wizman told AFP. "Just one day" don't eat three meals. "

Arafat Jaradat, 30 years old, the father of two children from the village of Sair near Al Khalil (Hebron) in the southern part of the West Bank, died suddenly Saturday in one Israel prison. Prison authorities called the cause of his death was heart disease.

The protestors in his home village and in some parts of the town of Al Khalil Sunday threw boulders to Israel security forces who responded by firing tear gas and shock grenades, witnesses said. There was no immediate report on casualties.

The Palestinian Prisoners Association said the number of prisoners who did hunger strike openly rose from four to 11 people.

Jaradat's death occurred a day after nearly 100 Palestinians injured in clashes with Israel's security forces in demonstrations in the West Bank demanding the liberation of the strikers.

A statement from the Office of Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyed Saturday said he "expressed great sadness and was appalled at the death of Arafat in prison Israel invaders Jaradat".

The Hamas rulers of The Gsza says that prisoners died because of "inhumane conditions in Israel prisons."

Israel's domestic intelligence agency Shin Bet said Jaradat ditahanan due to his involvement in the incident of November 2012 stoning which injure a soldier Israel.

Hundreds of Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike Israel

Ramallah (Reuters)-about 800 Palestinians, who are languishing in jail, Israel refused food as their solidarity with four other prisoners who have been on a hunger strike.

According to the Prisoners ' Club, a group based in Ramallah, 800 prisoners in three prisons took part in the hunger strike a day, among them there are anggata of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Popular Front for the liberation of Palestine (PFLP), the Democratic Front for the liberation of and Palestine (DFLP).

Sivan, spokesman for the Agency post in Kepenjaraan Israel (IPS) confirm hundreds of detainees refused breakfast but said there were 500 prisoners in two facilities.

"Five hundred Palestinians refused breakfast. They will be refusing to eat day and night, "he told AFP on Tuesday.

Hunger strike a day it was the expression of their solidarity with the last four prisoners who have been doing a long hunger strike and their health caused protests in the West Bank as well as the statements of the anxiety of the group human rights groups and Western Governments.

A fourth man, Samer Issawi (33), Tareq Qaadan (40), Jafar Ezzedine (41), and Ayman Sharawna (36) has been refused food between two to seven months.

The statistics broadcasted by rights groups B'Tselem shows Israel's citizens by the end of 2012, 4,500 Palestinians detained in Israel prisons.

The U.S. Committee welcome the release of political prisoners of Burma

Washington (Reuters)-the United States, Friday, welcomed the formation of a Committee to review and release the remaining political prisoners in Myanmar.

After long denying their existence, the Myanmar regime has freed hundreds of political prisoners since the President of Thein Sein took over power in March 2011, and announced a review of all cases "relating to politics" in November.

On Thursday, State media said the Government has established the Thein Sein one Committee to review cases of political prisoners "in order to give them their freedom."

"By forming a review mechanism in a transparent and inclusive to ensure the release of all remaining political prisoners, the Government has taken an important step towards national reconciliation," said a spokesman for the U.s. State Department Victoria Nuland in a statement.

"We look forward to supporting the implementation of this process," he added, recalling that the Government has freed Thein Sein over 700 political prisoners during the last 18 months.

United Kingdom-language newspaper New Light of Myanmar said the members of the Committee have not been selected, but will be made up of government representatives as well as
civil society groups in addition to the members of the political parties.
