The first paper money Australia auctioned 3.6 million dollars

Sydney (News and Us)-Australia's first paper money printed 100 years ago and was discovered in a letter in the United Kingdom in 1999, is now offered at 3.5 dollars Australia or about 3.6 million u.s. dollars in an auction.

Paper money is worth 10 Shillings with serial number M000001 issued on May 1, 1913 it is awarded by the Prime Minister Andrew Fisher to Judith Denman, a five-year-old girl is the daughter of the Governor-General Lord Denman.


In 1999, nearly 12 years after Judith Denman inducted, the money found at his objects are sorted and then bought a collector in Sydney at a price of one million dollars in Australia in 2000.


The money was then sold again in auction in 2008 and sold at a price of 1.9 million dollars in Australia.


Coin sellers in Melbourne, Coinwork, that handles the sale of State ang paper represent one of the most important periods in the history of Australia-Commonwealth of Australia in 1901 formation.


Executive Director of Coinwork, Downie, Belinda says, after consultation with experts, he expects the historic banknote sold at least 3.5 million Australia dollars, which will be the highest value in the sale of coins or banknotes in Australia.

"I would prefer if that money could be exhibited permanently, as it is a piece of history is important and everyone should be able to participate in it. It's very unique, "he said.


The making of paper money was the idea of Prime Minister at the time, Fisher, and the Labor Government, which wants Australia's got a better national identity after colonial times.


Nation-building initiatives undertaken by Fisher also includes the creation of a Government bank, Commonwealth Bank, the introduction of the Commonwealth as well as the establishment of the post Office's capital city Canberra.
