Nigerian troops kill 20 terrorists Boko Haram members

Kano, Nigeria (Reuters)-Nigerian Forces killed 20 members of Boko Haram that attempted to attack military barracks in Nigeria's northeastern Borno State, the region, the military said Sunday.

"Boko Haram Terrorists tried to attack a military barracks (Borno) around 05.00 p.m. (11.00 GMT)," said military spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Sagir Musa in a statement, AFP reported.

He stated, the attack took place in the village of Monguno, about 200 kilometers from Maiduguri, capital of Borno State churns that Boko Haram's headquarters was considered, the group accused of waging a deadly attack dozens of.

The attack on the military barracks that has been broken, said Moses. "The Clashes killed 20 terrorists Boko Haram."

Kano, the city has a population of about 10 million people in Northern Nigeria, a region which was hit hardest in the violence.

A series of bombings and shootings swept Kano after Friday prayers on January 20, 2012, killing 185 people, in attacks claimed by Boko Haram which aimed at the police headquarters and the offices of other policemen, a police building and immigration offices.

The attacks were the most deadly operations by the Group and is aimed primarily at the police station.

Boko Haram claimed dozens of attacks in Nigeria, including suicide bombings in August at UN headquarters in Abuja that killed at least 24 people.

A series of bomb attacks in the city of Jos, central Nigeria, on Christmas Eve 2010 also claimed by Boko Haram.

Boko Haram launched a violent action in 2009 that the uprising was crushed brutally by the military which killed about 800 people and destroying mosques and their headquarters in the northeastern city of Maiduguri, Nigeria.

The Group was inactive for about a year and then appeared again in 2010 with a series of murders.

Nigeria's population of over 160 million people split in the northern region, which is mostly Muslim and the South largely Christian. (M014)

Nigerian health workers pascapembunuhan hat the doctor Planned

Conspiracy theories against the polio campaign has spread in the area of Northern Nigeria--the Muslim scholars. Nigeria is one of only three countries--with Pakistan and Afghanistan--that is still polio-stricken.

Special security arrangements also include medical personnel who are involved in other tasks of special medical, said the police chief.

Abubakar instructed the Police Commissioner in the State and Assistant Inspector General of police--especially those who served in the Northern State of Nigeria, to strategize in order to prevent security attacks further. (C003)
