Citizens of the Netherlands gathered in Amsterdam

Amsterdam (News and Us)-Willem-Alexander becomes the first King of the Netherlands in the past 120 years, this Tuesday, when Queen Beatrix turned his Crown to his eldest son.

Thousands of people gathered at Dam Square, Amsterdam, to looking forward to seeing Kings and Queens out of the balcony of the Royal Palace.


Almost a million people will gather in the streets to stage a people's Party welcomed the King and Queen took off.


"He (Willem-Alexander) knows what it wants. He United the people, "said 40-year-old woman, Margriet Dantuma, dressed all in Orange.


Beatrix will abdicate at 10.00 a.m. local time or GMT Tuesday afternoon at 15.00, and yield the throne to Willem-Alexander, who immediately became King, while his wife Maxima will be Queen, as Reuters.
