A spokesman for Ban Ki-moon, Martin Nesirky, conveys that statement on Sunday, the day after the bombing that claimed many lives and became the spotlight of the world.
Referring to two attacks on the minority Shiite community in Quetta in recent weeks, Ban "calls for quick action against those who claimed to be responsible and do the actions."
According to the AFP report, Ban also "reaffirmed the strong support of the United Nations in the efforts of the Government and people of Pakistan to protect religions and ethnic minorities as well as the fight against terrorism."
