Five injured in collision of tanker-water bus on the Bosphorus Strait

Istanbul (Reuters)-five people injured in a collision between a tanker and a sea bus in Turkey's Bosphorus Strait near Istanbul, Turkey, Friday night (8/2).

Water bus Turkey Captain Sercan Karabiyik told media that the five people--four passengers and one crew member--injured in the accident and was taken to hospital to be treated.

The collision occurred when the bus Yenikapi sea-1 arrived at the Kabatas European side of the Bosphorus Strait from the Marmara coast Bostanci in the Asian region.

The Bus that was hit by a water tanker near the Maiden's Tower at the entrance of the Bosphorus Strait at around 13 local time, Xinhua said.

So far, the Bosphorus Strait is open to traffic, despite the departure from Kabatas--which is one of the busiest transport station near the Palace of Dolmabahce--temporarily has halted.

Istanbul police were deployed to the area, and the investigation is being conducted.
