Employees involved in a Texas day care centre informed the authorities that the owner was serving milk-doped with sleep-inducing drugs to calm children MyFoxDFW.com has.
Investigators arrived the day care centre Luv and learning in the city of Van Alstyne, just north of Dallas and said they could smell the antihistamines flavoured milk, the station reported.
Kimberly Lane, the owner, was charged with 16 counts of felony for the disappearance of a child. Police said that Lane would have allegedly mixing antihistamines in over-the-counter in a large container of milk just before serving the drinks for dinner, MyFoxDFW.com children reported.
Employees alerted police Tuesday because they say that they were concerned about the children, the station reported.
If convicted, she faces a maximum of two years in prison and a maximum fine of $10,000 for each count.
