BOSTON - A Massachusetts Prosecutor, said that he would continue to pursue criminal proceedings against the uncle of President Barack Obama, even if the federal immigration officials have released him.
Gerry Leone Middlesex District Attorney, said Friday that it will pursue state charges against Onyango Obama stemming from his arrest on 24 August on a charge of drunken driving.
Federal immigration officials took Obama warning shortly after this incident on allegations that he violated an order there are nearly two decades to return to his native Kenya.
Spokesman of the immigration and customs of application Brian Hale, said Obama was released Thursday and ordered to check regularly for the Agency.
Leone said that he would pursue the criminal case because drunk drivers pose a significant risk to public safety.
Obama is the half-brother of the President's late father. His lawyer would comment.
