Caracas (Reuters)-Venezuela's opposition sues President election results last month, which was won by the successor of the late Hugo Chavez, and the more trouble the already messy transition to continue without a divisive leader.

Middle right-wing opposition in the oil-rich South American country that officially filed a lawsuit to the Supreme Court, although they said if the Court loaded with justices of the pro-Chavez will certainly reject the suit.

The opposition coalition official Ramon Jose Medina said the lawsuit lists "of bribery, violence and fraud" during the electoral process that ends with the triumphant successor to Chavez, Nicolas Maduro over his rival Henrique Capriles.

This step is in fact the necessary formalities before the opposition brought the case to the Court of Inter-America for human rights of the Organization of American States.

Maduro, a former bus driver, won the general elections on April 14 with a thin margin, only about 1.5 percent, according to the National Electoral Council.

But Capriles, who also lost to Chavez by 11 points in the general election held in last October, had mentioned some irregularities and saying the Government cheated in elections that accelerated after Chavez hard leaders have ruled since 1998--died of cancer in March.

Audits launched by the National Electoral Council on Monday called a banal and "farce" because it only checks the electronic voting system itself and not a physical record of elections held April, Capriles said Wednesday.

While Capriles said in a press conference on Thursday if he would not rule out chances of a referendum to attract opponents of the pro-Chavez, who was elected to the National Assembly.

"It is clear that the National Assembly did not represent the political realities of this country," Capriles said in a television broadcast cut to allow time for speech Maduro.

Urgent Venezuela referendum on the Constitution can be made if requested by the Member who has completed at least half of their mandate and 20 percent member support.

Tensions have been high since the general election held to replace the bombastic leader, Chavez.

US urges Syria attend opposition Rome

London (Reuters)-A senior United States officials, Sunday urged Syria to withdraw Islamic opposition out of the international gathering in Rome on Thursday which will be attended by new U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.

National Coalition Chief Ahmed al-Khatib Moaz said on Saturday that it withdrew from the meeting of the 11 countries Syria to protest the inaction of the international community which was "shameful" in the face of civilian killings in his country.

U.s. officials said: "we have stressed ... that they have a chance in Rome, to meet with those countries that have given the greatest support to them and present to us all how they look at the security situation in the field, the humanitarian situation, politically and economically.

"The meeting was also an opportunity for them to meet with the Foreign Minister of the new us and speak directly to him," he said when speaking on the plane carrying Kerry to London to start his first official visit, a visit to Europe and the Middle East.

Former u.s. Ambassador to Syria, Robert Ford will be in Cairo on Sunday night to meet with the opposition of Syria in order to try to convince them to withdraw their decision to boycott the meeting in Rome.

However, the officials acknowledged that the opposition of Syria was under "heavy pressure" from its own members and those of Syria, who is skeptical about the value of attending the International Conference.

Khatib said on Saturday that the withdrawal from the Rome meeting and the cancellation of a planned visit to Washington and Moscow is the lack of protest over the global outcry over the "crimes committed against the people of Syria".

While a senior officer of the u.s. military Sunday, said that during a discussion with the Government of President Barack Obama on how to help resolve the crisis in Syria, he gave support to the idea of arming Syria guerrillas but no specific plans have ever considered.

General Martin Dempsey, the leader of the Joint Chiefs of staff, said he thinks arming guerrillas might help end the crisis more quickly and avoid ambruknya all government agencies--which could make Syria so failed State.

DA spokeswoman Lindiwe Mazibuko, 31, beat incumbent Athol Trollip, a white man, in the race for the job.

Analysts say her election shows the DA is trying to shed its image as a mainly-white party in a country where black people constitute the majority.

South Africa remains heavily polarised along racial lines, nearly 17 years after white minority rule ended.

Ms Mazibuko won the election with the backing of DA national leader Helen Zille, a white woman.

'Window-dressing'

She faced tough competition from Mr Trollip, a white political heavyweight who speaks several African languages and was seen in the party as a safe pair of hands, the BBC's Karen Allen in Johannesburg reports.

But the DA elected Ms Mazibuko because it knows it has to change its image if it is to meet its goal of unseating the governing African National Congress (ANC) party and forming a coalition government within a decade, our correspondent says.

The DA's critics dismiss Ms Mazibuko's election as window-dressing and say the party remains white-dominated.

Ms Mazibuko rejects the allegation.

She says that as a young black person, she has greater resonance with the youth who make up the vast majority of South Africa's unemployed.

The DA obtained 24% of the vote in the 2009 parliamentary elections.

Whites make up about 10% of South Africa's population.

The ANC has ruled South Africa since 1994, after spearheading a decades-long campaign to end apartheid.

The meeting, held at a private farm outside the capital, follows months of protests against the rule of President Bashar al-Assad.
No arrests were made, although the opposition figures who attended were monitored by security officials.
Saturday's meeting comes two days after opposition parties in exile formed the Syrian National Council in Turkey.
Dr Samir Aita, an opposition figure living abroad who attended the Damascus meeting, said the event was significant.
"The importance of this meeting lies in the fact that it is happening in Damascus, on Syrian soil, in support of the protesters despite all the security difficulties," he said.
Inspired by anti-government protests in Tunisia and Egypt, the opposition movement began more than five months ago as a series of protests against Syria's authorities.
A violent crackdown by security forces has since left more than 2,200 people dead, according to the UN.
The government says hundreds of its personnel have been killed.
Most of the people who attended the opposition meeting were drawn from Syria's established opposition - who have spent years of their life in prison, says the BBC's Lina Sinjab in Damascus.
Representatives of the protesters did not attend, fearing arrest, but they supported the meeting and their demands were read out, she adds.
One activist group, the Local Coordination Committees, denied any involvement with the conference and said it could only form an alliance or coalition with the traditional opposition once the government had been toppled.
The opposition asked for no international intervention, no sectarianism and no violence.
Embryonic assembly
At Thursday's meeting in Istanbul, members of Syria's opposition groups chose 140 people to form a "national council".
Its aim is to organise and give a public face to protests against Mr Assad.
It will also co-ordinate the opposition's policies against the Syrian leadership.
Half of those selected are in Syria, with the remainder drawn from opposition figures in Syria's disapora.
There have been earlier attempts to unite the country's opposition under one banner, but this attempt is being cast as having the full backing of all opposition groups, in effect an embryonic Syrian national assembly.
Speaking on Thursday, an opposition spokeswoman, Basma Qadmani, said: "After completing the first level of consultative meetings, groups of revolutionary youth, political movements and personalities, activists and technocrats decided to found the Syrian National Council."
Yasser Tabbara, another member of the council, said it had not yet elected a president.
"We are in a democratic process. This is an inaugural meeting," he told the AFP news agency.
