Washington (Reuters)-One aircraft Iran earlier this week attempted to intercept the aircraft without the crew belonged to the u.s. but failed, said the U.S. Department of defense was quoted as saying by Xinhua.
In a written statement, Pentagon Press Officer George Little said Iran was trying to intercept a jet Predator MQ-1 that remotely controlled in "over the international waters" on March 12, but was unsuccessful.
Little says the aircraft without the crew "were doing a routine secret surveillance flights in the area of international waters" in the Gulf, while Iran sent an F-4 Phantom jet 2 for mencegatnya.
"The distance between the two respective plane is around 16 miles," adds Little.
Two u.s. military aircraft escorting the Predator aircraft and Iran halt the pursuit after an oral warning.
