ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Reuters) - The captain of a supply boat was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after his vessel ran aground early on Thursday in Anchorage's small-craft harbor, police said.

It appears to be the first case of an alcohol-related marine accident at the port of Anchorage in recent memory, said Lieutenant Dave Parker of the Anchorage Police Department.

The vessel, a 53-foot cargo craft, was steered up onto the harbor's concrete boat ramp, where it was left "high and dry," Parker said. On its way into port, boat also appeared to have struck and damaged an offshore piling, he said.

A blood-alcohol test of the captain, Albert Anderson, 57, revealed he was at least one-and-a-half times the legal limit for operating a motor vehicle or water craft, Parker said.

Police are treating the case as a routine drunken-driving incident, albeit one that does not involve a car, he said.

No oil spilled and there were no injuries from the accident, Parker said.

n">(Reuters) - About 130 protesters were arrested at an Occupy Chicago demonstration early Sunday after they erected tents and refused to leave a park next to Lake Michigan after its closing time, police said.

The breakup of the protest in Grant Park was the second mass arrest of demonstrators from Occupy Chicago in the past week. A week ago, about 175 protesters were arrested.

In Philadelphia Sunday, 15 people were arrested when a group of protesters blocking traffic refused to move, authorities said. They face misdemeanor charges of obstructing a highway.

The Philadelphia arrests were the first there since Occupy Philadelphia began in sympathy with the Occupy Wall Street movement in New York.

In Chicago, the protesters were charged with violating a city ordinance, the equivalent of the lowest misdemeanor, and most were released after agreeing to appear in court, police said.

Grant Park, the site of large protests against the Vietnam War during the Democratic Party's convention in Chicago in 1968, is supposed to be closed after 11 p.m., police said.

The protests, which launched more than a month ago in New York and focus on anger over government bailouts of big banks and persistent high unemployment, have sprung up across the United States and in other countries.

The demonstrations focus on what protesters see as unequal treatment of the 99 percent of Americans versus the top 1 percent of earners, but critics have said the groups lack clear objectives.

Hundreds of Occupy Wall Street demonstrators have been arrested in New York since the protests began. There have also been numerous arrests in Tampa, Florida, Cincinnati, Des Moines, Minneapolis, Denver and other cities.

Less than a week after his arrest on the steps of the Supreme Court, the activist and Princeton professor was cuffed in Harlem.

Cornel West was protesting the NYPD's stop-and-frisk policy in front of a police precinct in Harlem with dozens of other activists when police began to arrest those who had gotten too close to the station.

The group of demonstrators had marched north from the Occupy Wall Street home base at Zuccotti Park in lower Manhattan. They congregated in front of the Adam Clayton Powell State Office Building on 125th Street to protest the stop-and-frisk policy, which they say unfairly targets Hispanic and black men.

Police arrested 30 protesters on disorderly conduct charges after they blocked the precinct's entrance. West and other organizers said that they intended to get arrested. Among those taken in were religious leaders, another New York City college professor, and Carl Dix, spokesman for the Revolutionary Communist Party.

The movement against stop-and-frisk has been gaining steam recently as New York politicians have criticized NYPD commissioner Ray Kelly for relying on the tactic too heavily. State Senator Eric Adams condemned the policy, saying it's an “example of how this city's police culture has been allowed to cultivate racist and sexist mentalities in some of its officers."

Man arrested for threats of terror on Los Angeles Bus

LOS ANGELES - a report of a suspicious rucksack which sent a team of explosives at Los Angeles bus finished with a man accused of making terrorist threats and possessing a hoax device.

Kimberly Unland of the Sheriff of the County of Los Angeles said authorities received a call on the Backpack on a Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus in the section of the city koreatown shortly after 18 Saturday.

She said a man was arrested and fire explosives and criminal detectives responded to the scene. The bus was evacuated and the area was contained.

Authorities said around midnight as investigators determined the Backpack was in fact a small suitcase and was not an explosive device.

However, the detectives arrested Parades Eugenio 62 years on charges of making terrorist threats and possessing a hoax device.

No other details were immediately available.

New Jersey police have arrested a man suspected of destroying the Virgin Mary and Jésus statues nine churches this summer.

Curtis n. Condell, 41, of Magnolia, N.J., was arrested Wednesday for reports of MyFoxPhilly the 14th vandalism to Saint Joan of Arc Church, July.

Condell was charged with bias intimidation and criminal mischief for causing damage to the two religious statues in Saint Joan of Arc Church.

Following the investigation, police also charged Condell with other acts of vandalism of statues in the Cistercian Monastery, located in Mt. Laurel, N.J., as well as seven churches in Cherry Hill, N.J., in July.

In this case, the break came when a viewer of news alert provided a tip to the police leading to the identity of the suspect.

A church and more than 30 statues were damaged in the attacks.

Condell was sent to the prison of County of Burlington or $100,000 bail.

Officials say that a man of 21 years Basile was arrested after he allegedly walked in Iota Middle School, with a Halloween mask that armed while of four knives and an axe.

Members of the Sheriff of the parish of Acadia tell The Advocate (http://bit.ly/nTWRJt) the masked man identified as Garrett West, came to school wearing khaki overalls Tuesday, a white Halloween mask, a black wig and a belt around the size, which held the knives and the axe of war.

MPs say Debra Siebert, Director of the school, persuaded the man to remove his mask and give up its weapons.

The authorities said Siebert recognized a former student of the Iota middle school West. A mobile has not yet been determined, said Maxine Trahan, Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman.

"He followed Iota Middle when he was young and it had good memories," said Trahan.

The incident prompted officials to order a locking of the middle school and Iota High School, located on the same property, Trahan said.

The two schools resumed activities of normal shortly after noon, about an hour after the incident, said Trahan.

West was booked on two counts of terrorism, two leaders of the execution of a dangerous weapon on school and two counts of unlawful interruption of school property.

It was not clear if West has an attorney.
